Sunday night, Celine and I went to Lincoln Center for a screening of My Own Private River, a version of My Own Private Idaho that James Franco put together. I just keep forgetting to write about this because it was strangely underwhelming. Through no fault of James or the movie, of course, it was just because the previous day exceeded so many expectations. The movie was interesting…. I don’t really know what to make of it. There was originally a 12 hour cut…….. But I will say that I thought it was a really cool homage to River Phoenix. And let’s just say that if James was any less weird than he was that night, I might have been disappointed. He did, however, sit in our row during the movie, which meant that when I really wanted to go the bathroom, I couldn’t. Well, I could. I just didn’t think it would be the most respectable thing to make him get up so I could leave during his movie.

James Franco and I at the NYC premiere of My Own Private River
I love how relaxed he is. lol, he barely looked at the audience, he was always looking up and to the side as he thought hard about his answers. I’m not sure if that’s a mixture of concentrating hard and/or a shy coping mechanism. Sometimes people who are shy don’t look at the audience or they don’t look at the audience as to not break their concentration. lol
We obviously look really happy to see each other.
hahah :) great picture
